Goodbye 2019...

Here we are again standing at the edge of an old decade, into a new decade, a new year, a new day, a new moment for the old you who wants to be a new you. I am not starting with the common mythical line "New Year, New You" because only the Old You knows the New You. If there is someone you can trust to bring the New You then the last and only person will be the Old You.So, why it is always special to say Good bye to a year and hello to another? Whether you choose to make the New Year's resolution or not, January always feels like a fresh beginning- melting with possibilities, opportunities and more importantly hope.  2010s has been a turbulent decade across the world with protest, populism, absurd politics, frantic commercialism, austerity, mass migration and many good news submerged by overflowing bad news' headlines. Social media has taken over the traditional news from every corner of the globe to another perspective of reporting whether it is with authority,

Harley Street-the dream of one man and now the flagship of many...

Many Malaysians and Singaporeans who resides in the United Kingdom, UK, or who has visited or is visiting London might be familiar with Harley Street Healthcare Clinic, HSHC, based in the heart of the medical district of London.   The story started 30 years ago. 30 years ago, if you are visiting London and fell ill or need an urgent medical care or assistance , it was, indeed very difficult because the National Health Service, NHS of the UK, at that time,  do not provide care for foreigners. Thus, it started with a dream of a man as a corporate social enterprise in 1987. He is Dr R Danapal, a gynaecologist, whom obtained his postgraduate training from London’s Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Prior to starting his own practice, he spent several years as Assistant to The Queen’s Gynaecologist, Sir George Pinker . Today, HSHC has continued to provide the highest quality of healthcare advice and variety of services tailored to meet the needs and wellbeing of each indi

Dammika's- Malaysian Food Galore with a touch of Sri Lankan and South Indian Flavours

It's been 120 days, for it's new owner, Rupert Jones since he took over the helm of Dammika's-a well-known Sri Lankan and South Indian restaurant in the heart of London-with it's strategic location, just stone's away from Buckingham Palace. During that 120 days- a lot has changed in the outlook of Dammika's but it's food still remain one-of-a-kind. In addition  to it's indigenous flavour and authenticity of spices and fresh ingredients from Sri Lanka and South India, Dammika's now has addition of the unique flavour and taste of Malaysia's cuisines to it's melting pot of food and culture; of course with a spark of a service full of smiles and warm welcome. If you have been too long away from Asian home or missing home food during short visit to the Queen's City, Dammika's will certainly be a cocoon of your favourite healthy food that one would not want to miss. The every day menu consist of Rice, Hoppers, String Hoppers, Cocon

A Wise Sensei

That is the philosophy of Sensei Ramathas Mutusamy, who has been practicing Karate for the last 3 decades. Momentous Golfing-Malaysian International Open.

The Saturday evening was fabulously cheerful with good spirit and happy bunch of professional and casual golfers. They just simply love the people around them and tossed the cup for each other's participation at the Malaysian International Open.  The day was superbly perfect for golfing and for a moment I just felt like I was in Malaysia.  Bright and sunny hot day with happy faces, beautiful green and serene view at the Birchwood Park Golf and Country Club, Dartford,  Kent. Anyone can just simply fall in love with golf and forget themselves between the bounce of this great game if they play the game well. Young Nazmi Kamal, has been attending proper golf coaching and been playing for 7 years. Nadzry Nurdi plays for fun and it has been 15 years now. Senior Max K. Lim is Malaysian Golfing Society, MGS member and has been playing for 10 years.  For George Pedred from Hertfordshire, this is his first time playing with Malaysians. So is for Chris Edmonds who finds it amusing a

Teed up with a cup of tea and 'nasi lemak'- the prelude of Malaysian International Open

As the London's weather getting colder and wetter, ushering this year's wild Autumn, Malaysia Golfing Association in the United Kingdom (MGAUK) has geared up with their golf clubs and buggies for the countdown of the First Malaysian International Open. The mega event with 100 players will tee-off at 10 in the morning this Saturday, the 14th of September, 2019. I met some of the enthusiastic gentlemen from the association at the tournament's location, Birchwood Park Golf and Country Club in the heart of the Kent countryside and surrounded by beautiful woodland. So, let's speak golf here as the grass is always greener on the golf course. Birchwood Park Golf and Country Club Of course when I say greener, as MGAUK's motto, my pen also meant to write-  no favouritism, no cronism, no nepotism, no patronage or no "under the table" deal. This is  merely 18 holes game with 'official' form of play is Stableford (Putter length – Metal part).

A poem for my Malaysia

This poem is written in Malay Language, my homeland's national language. It is written in the spirit of the celebration of Malaysia's 62nd Independence Day. It is not meant to condemn or based on any specific ethnicity, or person. It is purely from the heart and mind of mine for the love of my birth country, a moment simply for my homeland. Sejenak untukmu Aku bukan bukan Melayu kerana aku cukup Melayu, cukup Cina, cukup India, dan cukup lain-lain kaum. Aku anak Malaysia. Aku bukan bukan Melayu kerana aku atuh pada rukun. Rukun aku rukun negara. Usah disindir kepercayaanku kerana aku bukan calang-calang orang. Aku anak Malaysia. Aku bukan bukan Melayu. Aku tahu Melayu, aku hormati Melayu, dan aku cintai Melayu kerana aku anak Malaysia. Aku bukan anak India. Bahasa ibuku Tamil,  kampungku pekan Melayu, sekolah rendahku sekolah Cina. Kerjaku merantau dunia. Kini sudah dekad lamanya aku dikota London, tetapi ba
